Eighteen-year-old surf instructor Sam Hollis was teaching lessons off New Smyrna Beach when a wave knocked him from his board. After he got back on the board with his feet hanging in the water, a shark grabbed his foot and pulled him below the surface. He kicked the shark away, swam to safety, and was taken to a hospital with serious bite marks on his foot.
